Frequently asked questions
How many admins can a school create on Schoolites?
Unlimited. Add as many admin accounts as you need — principal, vice principal, accountant, exam co-ordinator, transport in-charge, librarian, hostel warden, front-office staff. There is no per-user fee. The flat per-student price already includes every staff login.
Can two admins have different permissions on the same modules?
Yes. Permissions are granular at the action level. For example, the accountant can view and edit fees but cannot publish exam results; the exam co-ordinator can publish results but cannot see fee collections or modify salary records. You also get pre-built role templates (Principal, Accountant, Teacher, Librarian, Transport In-charge, Hostel Warden, Front-Office) to start in one click.
Is there an audit log of who did what?
Yes. Every sensitive action — fee receipt creation/edit/cancel, mark-list publish/revoke, student transfer, fee discount approval, login/logout, IP and device — is recorded in an audit trail with timestamp in your school's local timezone. The primary admin can filter the log by user, date, module or action type and export to Excel for board meetings or audits.
What happens to an admin's actions if their access is revoked?
Their login is disabled instantly across web and the mobile app — current sessions are force-logged-out. Their past actions stay attributed to their name in the audit log (history cannot be edited). You can also "demote" an admin to a teacher or accountant role without losing their account or its history.
Can we restrict access by branch in a school chain?
Yes. For multi-branch chains, each admin can be scoped to one branch, a custom set of branches, or all branches. A branch principal sees only their branch; a CFO at HQ sees a consolidated view across all branches with drill-down.
Do you support two-factor authentication (2FA)?
Yes. 2FA is available via OTP sent to the admin's registered mobile number — recommended for the primary admin, accountant and principal. It can be made mandatory at the school level so no admin can log in without it.
Can parents or students accidentally see admin screens?
No. Roles are strictly separated. The parent app, student login and teacher app each render only their permitted screens. Admin permissions affect only admin and staff logins.
Is there an extra cost for adding more admins or staff users?
