Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need to buy new cameras?
Usually not. Schoolites connects to an existing DVR or NVR that supports RTSP, either on your network or through a public host or DDNS.
Is it a full video stream?
Parents see a near-live picture that refreshes automatically, which works well on mobile data. Devices connected only by P2P device ID don't support the live preview yet.
Can every parent see every camera?
No. You assign each camera to all classes, one class or individual students. Parents see only the cameras assigned to their child.
Can we see who watched a camera?
Yes. Each viewing session is logged with the user, the camera and the time, and it expires automatically.
Can we switch it off?
Yes. Live cameras is an optional module that can be turned on or off for your school, and each camera can be disabled on its own.
