Frequently Asked Questions

What are the minimum infrastructure requirements for CBSE affiliation?

CBSE requires adequate land (1 acre for secondary, 1.5 acre for senior secondary in urban areas), minimum 500 sq ft classrooms, science and computer labs, library with 1500+ books, separate toilets, playground, boundary wall, and disabled-friendly access.

What happens if a school does not meet RTE infrastructure norms?

Schools not meeting RTE norms may receive notices from the state education department. Continued non-compliance can result in withdrawal of recognition. Government schools get improvement grants; private schools must invest from their own funds.

Are lab requirements different for senior secondary schools?

Yes. Senior secondary schools (Class 11-12) need separate Physics, Chemistry, and Biology labs. Secondary schools can have a composite science lab. Computer labs are required at both levels.
