Many parents only find out about attendance shortfall when the class teacher mentions it casually. By then, recovering a 75% attendance can be impossible — especially in board exam years. The Schoolites attendance view shows the running number daily, so you can intervene early.

Why this matters for Indian parents

CBSE rule 6.1 mandates a minimum 75% attendance to be eligible for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exam. Many state boards have similar rules. A parent who checks attendance only at the end of the year often discovers the rule has already been breached. Daily visibility prevents this.

FAQ

Questions Indian parents ask

How often is attendance updated?
Within minutes of the class teacher (or the biometric system) marking it. There is no end-of-day batch — entries appear as soon as they are recorded.
My child is in Class 11 — can I see subject-wise attendance?
Yes. For higher secondary classes, attendance is tracked per subject and the app shows Physics %, Chemistry %, Maths % etc. separately.
What counts as a working day?
Days the school is officially open. Holidays, weekends and declared optional holidays are excluded from the percentage calculation. The school sets the academic calendar.
Can I download last year's attendance?
Yes — use the year picker at the top of the Attendance tab. All past years your child was enrolled are available.
Is half-day counted as present or absent?
It is recorded as a half-day (yellow on the calendar). For the percentage, the school decides whether it counts as 0.5 or 1 — the policy is shown next to the percentage.
My child travels with me for a family function. Will the missed days count?
They will count as absent unless you apply for leave in advance and the class teacher approves it. Then the days are marked as "approved leave" and treated as per school policy.
