Schoolites Parent App

School Bus Tracking App — See Your Child's Bus in Real Time

Stop standing at the bus stop in 42°C heat or pouring rain. Schoolites shows your child's school bus on a live map, sends a notification 2 minutes before it reaches your stop, and tells you the moment your child boards or gets off.

School bus delays in Indian cities are normal — traffic, monsoon flooding, breakdowns, route changes for VIP movement. The Schoolites parent app removes the guessing. Every Schoolites school that runs transport has GPS trackers on its buses, and parents see the same live map the transport in-charge sees.

What you get

Built for Indian parents, on Indian phones

Concrete features — no buzzwords.

Live GPS location on a map

Refreshes every 10 seconds. Pinch-zoom to see exactly which lane the bus is in. Works on Google Maps so you recognise landmarks instantly.

Accurate ETA at your stop

Calculated from current traffic plus the driver's historical pattern on your route. Not a guess — usually accurate within 2 minutes.

Pickup & drop notifications

Push alert when the bus is 2 minutes away, when your child taps in (boards), and when they tap out at school or home. RFID and biometric options available.

One-tap driver & conductor call

Tap to call the driver or conductor directly from the app. Numbers are kept up to date by the school transport in-charge.

Speed & geofence alerts

If the bus crosses 60 km/h or strays off its assigned route, the school transport in-charge gets an instant alert. You can ask the school to share these with parents too.

Trip history for 30 days

See yesterday's route, the day before, last week. Useful when you need to verify pickup time or report a route deviation.

How it works

Three steps. No setup at your end.

1

Your school enables Schoolites Transport

The school fits GPS trackers on each bus and maps routes and stops in the Schoolites admin panel. Most schools complete this in 3–5 days.

2

You download the parent app

Free on Play Store and App Store. Log in with the mobile number you gave the school at admission. Child profile, route, stop and driver details are auto-linked.

3

Open the Transport tab

See live bus location, ETA, driver name and number, and your child's boarding status. Pinned at the top during pickup and drop hours.

Why this matters for Indian parents

In 2024–25, the average urban Indian school bus runs late once every 3 days due to traffic. A 15-minute uncertain wait at a bus stop with small children is one of the most common parent complaints to school admin. Live tracking removes that uncertainty completely — parents leave home only when the bus is close, and schools get fewer calls.

FAQ

Questions Indian parents ask

Does the bus tracking app work on a basic Android phone?
Yes. The Schoolites app runs on phones with 1 GB RAM and Android 7 and above. It is built to use very little data — about 5 MB per day of active tracking.
What if my child's school does not use Schoolites yet?
Ask the school principal or transport in-charge. Schoolites is free for parents but the school needs to set up GPS trackers and routes. You can share schoolites.com with them.
Will the app drain my phone battery?
No. Tracking happens on the school's side. Your phone only opens a live map when you open the Transport tab — typically twice a day for a few minutes.
What about privacy? Who else can see the bus location?
Only parents whose children are on that bus, plus the school transport team. Each parent sees only their own child's bus, not other routes.
Does it work offline or on 2G?
The live map needs internet, but it works on 2G with patchy signal. Notifications come through even on weak networks because they are very small messages.
My child took a different bus today. Can I still track them?
Yes — ask the school to update the route in Schoolites. The change reflects in your app within seconds.
