UDISE+ Form & Session Issues 2025-26

Form not saving? Getting logged out frequently? This guide covers both problems with proven solutions.

Form / Data Not Saving

There are several reasons why your UDISE+ form data might fail to save. Here are the most common causes with solutions:

1. Validation Errors in the Form

The form contains errors that prevent saving. Look for red highlighted fields or error messages at the top of the page.

Solution: Scroll through the entire form and fix all fields highlighted in red. Common issues include missing mandatory fields, incorrect date formats, and number mismatches (e.g., total students ≠ sum of class-wise students).

2. Internet Connection Dropped

Your internet disconnected during the save operation. The data was sent but the server couldn't confirm it.

Solution: Check your internet connection, refresh the page, log back in, and verify if the data was actually saved. Use a wired LAN connection for reliability.

3. Session Expired Before Save

You spent too long filling the form and your login session timed out (UDISE+ sessions expire after 15–20 minutes of inactivity).

Solution: Log in again and save quickly. See the session expired section below for prevention tips.

4. Server Overload

Too many users are accessing the portal simultaneously, causing the save request to fail.

Solution: Try during off-peak hours (6–9 AM or 8–11 PM). If it fails again, wait 5 minutes and retry.

5. Browser Compatibility Issues

Your browser is outdated or incompatible with the UDISE+ portal scripts.

Solution: Use the latest Chrome or Firefox. Clear browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete). Disable any ad-blocker or translation extensions temporarily.

Session Expired / Auto Logout

Why Sessions Expire

UDISE+ sessions automatically expire after 15–20 minutes of inactivity for security reasons. This is the most common issue when filling lengthy multi-section forms.

How to Prevent Session Expiry

  • Save after every section: Click Save after completing each section instead of waiting until the end
  • Stay active: Scroll or click something every 10 minutes to keep the session alive
  • Single tab only: Don't open multiple UDISE+ tabs simultaneously — this can cause session conflicts
  • Stable internet: Use a reliable wired connection — WiFi drops can trigger session resets
  • Prepare data first: Have all information ready in Excel/Word before opening the form
  • Off-peak hours: Work during 6–9 AM or 8–11 PM when servers respond faster

If Session Expired While You Were Working

  1. Don't panic: Any data you saved before the expiry is retained on the server
  2. Log in again: Use your credentials to log back in immediately
  3. Check saved data: Navigate to the form you were filling — your last saved state should be there
  4. Continue from last save: You'll only need to re-enter data from the last section you hadn't saved
  5. Use Draft feature: If available in your state's UDISE+ version, check the Drafts section for auto-saved data

Best Practices to Never Lose Data

  • Prepare all data in Excel or Word first, then copy-paste into UDISE+ forms
  • Fill one section at a time — save — then move to the next section
  • Take screenshots of filled data before clicking Save as backup
  • Keep a separate offline record of all data entered

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my UDISE+ form not saving?

Common causes: validation errors in the form (check red fields), expired login session, internet disconnection during save, or server overload during peak hours. Fix all red fields, log in fresh, and try saving during off-peak hours.

How long does UDISE+ session last before expiring?

UDISE+ sessions typically expire after 15–20 minutes of inactivity. To prevent this, save frequently (after each section) and keep interacting with the page regularly.

Will I lose my data if session expires?

No — any data you saved before the session expired is retained. Log back in and navigate to the form to continue from your last saved point. Only unsaved changes in the current section will be lost.

How to prevent session timeout on UDISE+?

Save after every section, keep only one UDISE+ tab open, use a wired internet connection, have all data prepared beforehand, and work during off-peak hours (6–9 AM or 8–11 PM).

What should I do if UDISE+ shows "session expired" error?

Log in again with your credentials. Your previously saved data is safe. Check the form to see what was saved, and continue from where you left off. Prepare data in Excel first to speed up re-entry.
