Frequently Asked Questions

What is PEN in UDISE+?

PEN (Permanent Education Number) is a unique ID assigned to each student. It helps track students across schools and years. If a student transfers, their PEN follows them.

Is Aadhaar mandatory for students?

Aadhaar is highly recommended but not mandatory. However, linking Aadhaar helps in tracking students and avoids duplicate entries.

How to handle transferred students?

Use the Student Transfer module. Enter the transfer date and the receiving school's UDISE code. The student record will be transferred automatically.
