How to edit, update, and correct data before and after submission

Data correction in UDISE+ depends on when you need to make changes. The process differs significantly before and after the data lock date:
When the portal is open for data entry, you can directly edit most fields:
Access udiseplus.gov.in and login with your school's credentials.
Go to Student Module, Teacher Module, or Infrastructure section based on what you need to correct.
Use the search function to find the specific student/teacher record. You can search by name, Aadhaar, or admission number.
Look for the pencil icon (✏️) or "Edit" button next to the record. Click to enter edit mode.
Update the incorrect fields. Some fields may be locked (greyed out) - these require admin approval to change.
Click "Update" or "Save Changes". Verify the correction was applied by viewing the record again.

After the data lock date, direct editing is disabled. You must submit a formal correction request:
Submit the complete request to your Block Education Officer (BEO). They will verify and forward to District.
District office verifies the request and documents. For major corrections, it may go to State level.
Authorized admin logs into portal with elevated access to make the correction in locked fields.
You'll receive confirmation once correction is made. Verify by logging into your portal.
Student/Teacher name has spelling mistakes
Edit directly if before lock date. After lock, submit Aadhaar copy showing correct name to Block office.
DOB doesn't match birth certificate
Submit birth certificate copy along with correction request. Affects age-class validation.
Aadhaar number belongs to someone else
Complex case. Requires District intervention to de-link wrong Aadhaar and link correct one. Submit both Aadhaar copies.
Class assignment needs to be changed
Use promotion/section change feature. Available even after lock date through Class/Section Change menu.
