🔐 Login & Authentication Errors

ERR_AUTH_001

Invalid Username or Password

Displayed when login credentials don't match the database records.

✅ Solutions:
  1. Verify username - it's usually your school's UDISE code
  2. Check CAPS LOCK is not enabled
  3. Use "Forgot Password" to reset your password
  4. Contact Block/District office if issue persists
  5. Ensure you're using the correct portal (Admin vs Data Entry)

Session Expired / Timeout

Sessions expire after 15 minutes of inactivity for security reasons.

  4. Don't use browser back button after logout
  5. Clear browser cookies if session doesn't start
ERR_AUTH_003

Account Locked / Too Many Attempts

Account is locked after 5 consecutive failed login attempts.

OTP Not Received

Aadhaar Number Already Exists

The entered Aadhaar is already registered with another student/school.

  3. Request TC from previous school to release UDISE entry
  4. For genuine duplicates, raise correction request via Block office
  5. Use transfer student workflow instead of new entry
ERR_DATA_002

Invalid Date Format

Date not entered in the required DD-MM-YYYY format.

✅ Solutions:
  1. Use DD-MM-YYYY format (e.g., 15-08-2015)
  2. Use the date picker instead of manual entry
  3. Don't use slashes (/) - use hyphens (-)
  4. Ensure birth date is realistic for the class
ERR_DATA_003

Mobile Number Invalid

Mobile number not in valid 10-digit Indian format.

✅ Solutions:
  1. Enter only 10 digits (no +91 or 0 prefix)
  2. Number must start with 6, 7, 8, or 9
  3. Avoid spaces or special characters
  4. Use parent's/guardian's number if student doesn't have one
ERR_DATA_004

Category-Caste Mismatch

Selected caste doesn't match the category (SC/ST/OBC/General).

✅ Solutions:
  1. Verify caste certificate for correct category
  2. Select category first, then choose caste from filtered list
  3. For General category, caste field may be optional
  4. Check state-specific caste list for accuracy
ERR_DATA_005

Required Field Empty

Mandatory fields marked with (*) are not filled.

  1. Look for red asterisk (*) marking mandatory fields
  2. Fill all highlighted fields before saving
  3. Use "NA" or "0" where applicable if data not available
  4. Check both visible and hidden tabs for required fields
ERR_DATA_006

Age-Class Validation Failed

Student's age doesn't meet criteria for the selected class.

✅ Solutions:
  1. Verify date of birth on birth certificate
  2. Check age as on reference date (usually March 31)
  3. Age guidelines: Class 1 = 5-6 years (minimum)
  4. For overage students, supporting documents may be needed

📤 Upload & Import Errors

ERR_UPLOAD_001

File Format Not Supported

Uploaded file is not in the required Excel format (.xlsx or .xls).

✅ Solutions:
  1. Download the official template from UDISE portal
  2. Save file as .xlsx (Excel 2007 or later)
  3. Don't rename .csv files to .xlsx - convert properly
  4. Avoid files created in Google Sheets - export as Excel
ERR_UPLOAD_002

File Size Exceeds Limit

Upload file size is greater than the 5MB limit.

✅ Solutions:
  1. Split data into multiple smaller files
  2. Remove unnecessary columns/formatting
  3. Delete blank rows at the bottom of file
  4. Compress images if any embedded
  5. Maximum 500 records per file recommended

Column Mapping Failed

Excel columns don't match the expected template structure.

  1. Don't modify, delete, or rename column headers
  2. Keep column order exactly as template
  3. Download fresh template and copy data carefully
  4. Ensure first row has headers, not data

Partial Upload / Rows Failed

  1. Download the error report showing failed rows
  2. Fix errors in a new file with only failed records
  3. Re-upload the corrected file
  4. Don't re-upload successful rows (will create duplicates)

ERR_SERVER_001

Server Not Responding / Timeout

Portal is not loading or showing connection errors.

✅ Solutions:
  1. Try during off-peak hours (early morning/late evening)
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Clear browser cache and cookies
  4. Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
  5. Check @udiseportal for maintenance updates
ERR_SERVER_002

503 Service Unavailable

Server is temporarily overloaded or under maintenance.

✅ Solutions:
  1. Wait 15-30 minutes and try again
  2. Check official channels for maintenance schedule
  3. Avoid deadline days - expect high traffic
  4. Try at night (10 PM - 6 AM) for best speed

Page Not Found (404)

The requested page or resource doesn't exist.

✅ Solutions:
  1. Go back to dashboard and navigate properly
  2. Don't use bookmarks - URLs may have changed
  3. Clear browser cache completely

Can wrong data entry be corrected after submission?

Yes, data can be corrected before the data lock date through the edit/update option. After lock date, you need to submit a formal correction request through Block office.

Why do I get errors only on certain browsers?
